How VIP Entertainment Started
I started this agency in 1992 after driving a dancer named Amber who I met at Mac’s Two in Manchester. She asked me to be her driver for parties. My first booking was in Hollis, NH — summer night, sun still out. Walking to the barn where the party was, Amber told me to always wear a jacket so the guys wonder if you have a gun. She also said park facing the road in case you need a quick exit. The party went well. The guys were cool.
I worked with Amber for a few months. We’d grab pizza at my brother’s place in Manchester after shows. I told her I could get her more parties. I got a beeper. Placed ads in the Boston Phoenix. Got my 800 number — 800-446-8847 — which I still have today. I used to tell people it was 800-4-HOT-VIP. Then realized it also spells 800-I-GOT-VIP.
By 1995 I discovered the internet through XTDL in Bedford, NH and registered my first domain. Posted two girls on the site — Annie from Montreal who was dancing at Matthews in Tyngsboro, and Taylor. I met Taylor in the parking lot of the 99 Restaurant in Salem, NH. She was from Lawrence, MA. Blue eyes, natural, 19 or 20 years old. I pulled up, she was standing by her car. I said “Jen?” She said yup. I said you’re hired, and drove off. Still friends with her on Facebook. That’s how this agency started.
